Staff Engineer, Product Applications
Role Summary
Join the Data Center product applications team to develop and validate high-performance power solutions for data center and AI computing systems. The role focuses on system and product definition, prototype verification, customer engagement, and generation of design collateral for customer adoption.

Senior — typically 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include driving product development and supporting customer deployments.
- Lead system, architecture, and product definition for power solutions targeted at data center applications.
- Develop proof-of-concept simulation models and correlate simulations with bench measurements.
- Perform experimental verification of products in development to identify limitations and issues.
- Engage with key customers on product roadmaps and technical requirements.
- Generate and validate reference designs for system verification and customer applications.
- Create design collateral: datasheets, evaluation kit manuals, application notes, layout guidelines, and simulation models.
- Verify and test evaluation kits; produce evaluation reports for customers.
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems and support business development and product promotion with customers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, including control loop design theory and SMPS architectures.
- Power electronics expertise: operation, control and design of high-efficiency DC‑DC converters, including magnetic element design and optimization.
- Proficiency with circuit simulation and EDA tools for power simulation (examples: OrCAD, LTSpice, SIMPLIS).
- Hands-on lab experience with power supplies, oscilloscopes, electronic loads and DAQ for high-accuracy efficiency, steady-state, and load-transient measurements.
- Experience debugging SMPS circuits, designing test boards for silicon evaluation, and producing detailed application reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams; clear and concise communication skills.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 10% of the time).
Education Requirements
Minimum: B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) plus ~7 years of relevant experience. Preferred: M.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent plus ~10 years of experience. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
