Job Title
Product Test Engineer
Role Summary
Design, develop, and deploy production test solutions for RF/analog/mixed-signal SoCs and modules used in IoT applications. Work with product, design, manufacturing, and OSAT partners to deliver automated test programs, characterize first silicon, and scale tests for volume production.
Experience Level
Mid-level β requires 5+ years of ATE development or equivalent production test experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include creating test hardware and software, driving NPI test release, and supporting volume ramp and test correlation.
- Develop and deploy production test solutions on in-house and commercial ATE platforms.
- Collaborate with design teams to prepare comprehensive test plans and validate alignment with functional and reliability requirements.
- Design test hardware (load boards, probe cards) for manufacturing environments and high-volume production.
- Lead first-silicon bring-up and characterize new silicon with Design and Product Engineering.
- Drive test program development, optimization, and release to production for NPI products.
- Improve test time, yield, and coverage through data-driven root-cause analysis.
- Support volume ramp, cross-site test correlation, and package-specific test considerations.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process and methodology improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years of ATE development experience and semiconductor test flow knowledge (wafer sort, final test, SLT).
- Proficiency writing embedded test firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller-based production test and characterization.
- Experience with ATE platforms (e.g., Teradyne UltraFlex, J750, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with RF, analog, and mixed-signal measurements and characterization.
- Experience designing test hardware circuits and PCB layout using Altium or equivalent tools.
- Proficient in programming with C++ and Python; experience with test automation and version control (e.g., Git).
- Proven ability to debug test hardware and software and to optimize test time and yield.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. The role specifies 5+ years of ATE development experience.
