Role Summary

As a Staff Product Applications Engineer (µWave/mmWave) you will provide product and system-level support to customers across aerospace, defense, communications, and instrumentation markets. You will lead development of software drivers, reference boards and application tools, deliver component- and system-level integration support for RF/mmWave products up to D‑Band (170 GHz), and act as a technical authority for customers and internal teams.

Based in Limerick; role requires occasional travel (approximately 10%) and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, marketing, and sales.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience in product applications engineering, customer technical support, or similar roles.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership across product applications, validation, and customer support.

• Lead system-level integration and optimization for customer designs involving RF/µWave/mmWave components.
• Develop application tools, reference boards, software drivers, and demonstration materials to accelerate customer adoption.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with engineering, marketing, and sales to support product introduction and roadmap decisions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for strategic customers.
• Design and execute product validation and qualification test plans; define operational boundaries and performance criteria.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide subject-matter expertise for product lines and application segments.
• Perform competitive analysis and create comparison documentation to inform product strategy.

Must-have

• Advanced system-level design and architecture skills for multi-component RF/mmWave solutions.
• Proven ability to develop application tools, reference hardware, and software independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience resolving complex system- and component-level issues.
• Expertise in product validation methodologies and qualification testing for specialized markets.
• Deep knowledge of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products and RF component behaviors.
• Excellent technical communication skills for documentation, presentations, and customer engagement.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical projects; demonstrated leadership within cross-disciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% as required by customer support needs.
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with µWave/mmWave components up to D‑Band (170 GHz), beamformers, tunable filters, mixers, detectors, and integrated converters.
• Experience conducting competitive product analysis for strategic positioning.
• Prior experience in aerospace, defense, communications, or instrumentation markets.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required; Master's degree preferred.
