Staff Engineer, Post-Silicon Validation
Role Summary
Drive post-silicon bring-up, validation, and debug for RISC-V–based SoCs. This hands-on engineering role works at the intersection of silicon, firmware, and system software and owns post-silicon validation from first-silicon bring-up through production readiness.
Position is hybrid, based in Austin, TX or Santa Clara, CA, and requires frequent lab work and cross-functional collaboration with design, pre-silicon verification, firmware, and software teams.
Experience Level
Senior - 5+ years of experience in SoC bring-up, validation, and silicon debug.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include first-silicon bring-up, validation, and delivering production-ready silicon.
- Lead first-silicon bring-up and execute post-silicon validation plans for RISC-V CPU–based SoCs.
- Debug silicon issues across CPU cores, interconnects, memory subsystems, peripherals, and high-speed interfaces.
- Develop and debug bare-metal tests and boot flows; collaborate on Linux bring-up and driver validation.
- Provide actionable feedback to design teams, support ECO validation, and drive fixes for future silicon revisions.
- Work closely with RTL, pre-silicon verification, firmware, and software teams to resolve hardware/software interaction issues.
- Own post-silicon validation activities through production readiness and handoff.

- Must-have: 5+ years of hands-on SoC bring-up, post-silicon validation, and silicon debug experience.
- Must-have: Strong understanding of CPU and SoC architectures, including RISC-V privilege modes, caches, coherency, and memory systems.
- Must-have: Proven ability to debug complex hardware/software interactions using lab tools and low-level software.
- Must-have: Experience developing and debugging bare-metal tests, boot flows, and validating drivers or OS bring-up.
- Must-have: Eligible to access U.S. export-controlled technology (citizenship, permanent residency, or ability to obtain required licenses).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with AI accelerators, high-speed interfaces, ECO processes, and production validation at scale.
