Job Title
Staff Engineer, Low Power Verification & Formal Equivalence
Role Summary
Lead low-power verification and formal equivalence signoff for advanced ASIC/SoC designs. Own static low-power checks and formal verification flows across RTL-to-GDSII, and coordinate with Physical Design and Power teams to implement and validate power intent and logical equivalence, including handling late-stage ECOs.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 7+ years of relevant industry experience in ASIC/SoC design and verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing and owning signoff methodologies, executing formal equivalence checks, and automating UPF-related flows.
- Own static low-power verification signoff and ensure coverage across the design hierarchy.
- Architect, optimize, and automate UPF coding and deployment with platform and power teams.
- Lead Formal Equivalence Checking (LEC) flow from RTL through post-route and manage formal ECO implementations.
- Collaborate with Physical Design and Power teams to produce implementable UPF and equivalence solutions.
- Analyze failures, debug low-power and equivalence issues, and drive corrective actions to signoff.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 7+ years of industry experience in ASIC/SoC design and verification.
- Expertise in architecting and coding power intent using UPF.
- Experience running and debugging static low-power checks on RTL and post-PNR netlists (e.g., Synopsys VC Low Power / VCLP or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with Logical Equivalence Checking and formal tools (e.g., Synopsys Formality) and formal ECO flows.
- Knowledge of power-management library cells and their implications: isolation cells, level shifters, always-on cells, retention registers.
- Successful background/reference checks and ability to provide proof of right to work in India; employment contingent on export-control authorization or licensing as required.
- Nice-to-have: backend Physical Design knowledge and scripting proficiency (TCL, Python, Perl) for flow automation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
