Job Title
Staff Engineer - HIG HBM PSE
Role Summary
Lead validation and platform engineering for HBM products at a fabrication site, owning end-to-end validation run execution, platform enablement, silicon debug, and automation. Work with global teams to ensure material readiness, test throughput, and evidence-backed closure of validation issues.
Experience Level
Senior level; requires 8+ years in DRAM/HBM/NAND validation or product engineering and at least 1 year of HBM validation experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include managing validation runs, driving platform development, advanced analysis and simulation, and mentoring engineers.
- Lead end-to-end validation run execution; ensure on‑schedule starts/completions and risk‑aware re‑plans.
- Operate time‑bound data pipelines (log parsing, metrics aggregation, anomaly ranking) and deliver decision‑ready reports.
- Ensure coverage across MBIST and Native flows; drive corner and screening coverage and evidence‑based closure.
- Develop and debug test programs on SM3/Cobra and Advantest V93K; enforce code quality and release discipline.
- Align hardware (handler, socket, loadboard, probe card) to test intent and throughput targets.
- Perform power/thermal characterization and correlate IDD/thermal data with performance and reliability; recommend content or silicon fixes.
- Architect and run Verilog simulations to reproduce platform sightings and validate changes before deployment.
- Build automation scripts and dashboards for anomaly detection, trend analysis, and coverage auditing.
- Lead cross‑functional silicon debug and drive corrective action closure with root‑cause evidence.
- Coach junior engineers on validation best practices, simulation methodology, and reporting standards.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- 8+ years in DRAM/HBM/NAND validation or product engineering; minimum 1 year HBM validation experience.
- Test platform code development in C/C++, Python, and APG (Algorithmic Pattern Generator).
- Expertise in MBIST (SM3/Cobra) and Native Mode (Advantest V93K) testing.
- Verilog simulation expertise: bench architecture, stimulus/checkers, waveform/log analysis, and correlation to platform behavior.
- Proven ability to execute validation runs and perform high‑speed I/O validation with eye and IDD characterization.
- Advanced scripting and data analytics skills; experience with Confluence and Jira.
- Version control and release tools experience (Git, Perforce).
Nice-to-have:
- Linux programming experience, familiarity with UVM and SVN.
- Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and defining shmoo/acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with automation and ML‑driven validation workflows (anomaly classifiers, trend predictors).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (stated). No certifications were specified.
