Staff Engineer, HIG-HBM Product Engineering (Media Health Reliability)

Role Summary

Senior reliability engineer responsible for developing and executing reliability test strategies for HBM products at Micron's Fab 10A in Singapore. The role drives qualification, defect reduction, root-cause resolution, and cross-functional improvements to yield, quality, and product reliability.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning and executing reliability qualifications, reducing field and intrinsic failures, and leading cross-functional technical resolutions.

  • Develop reliability stress tests, manufacturing test flows, and qualification plans covering product reliability aspects.
  • Coordinate with Global Quality to manage qualification execution, gating criteria, and remediation activities.
  • Drive DPM reduction and improve intrinsic reliability through optimized test strategies and manufacturing adjustments.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for reliability and RMA issues using electrical and physical failure analysis and drive corrective actions.
  • Recommend and support process conversions to improve yield, cost, reliability, and performance; manage associated risks with product leads.
  • Define technical priorities, perform risk analysis, and make project-level technical decisions.
  • Promote and implement AI/ML solutions for reliability workflows, including prototyping and productionization of analytics and automation.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff; coach teams on AI adoption and reliability best practices.
  • Manage projects and collaborate with Fab, HBM Technology Development, Design, System Development, and Quality teams.
  • Champion technical improvements and innovation to maintain competitive advantage.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of semiconductor industry experience in product, testing, or reliability engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills; experience with failure analysis and resolving production/RMA issues.
  • Familiarity with CMOS technology, DRAM architecture, and basic device physics.
  • Experience with data analysis, statistics, and scripting tools (for example Python or JMP).
  • Experience applying machine learning techniques (regression, classification, anomaly detection, clustering) to engineering datasets is preferred.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ownership, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible, eager to learn, and able to take on diverse roles in a dynamic manufacturing engineering environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field. Coursework or internship experience in semiconductor devices, circuit design, or product validation is noted as a plus.
