Staff Engineer, HBM Verification Architecture

Role Summary

Join the Heterogeneous Integration Group to define verification architecture and scalable verification solutions for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) products. The role partners with design, product, business units, and customers to ensure verification quality, scalability, and timely delivery across IP- and SoC-level projects.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include ownership of verification architecture, customer-facing co-verification, and mentoring.

  • Define and deliver verification plans and architecture for IP- and SoC-level verification; produce architecture collateral and turnkey solutions for future designs.
  • Lead co-verification efforts through direct customer engagement and cross-team coordination.
  • Mentor and grow early-career engineers to strengthen team capability.
  • Develop verification methodology improvements and GenAI applications to reduce cycle time and improve quality.
  • Debug pre-silicon and post-silicon issues; perform root-cause analysis and feasibility studies for future architectures.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills.

  • 7+ years of verification engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of verification strategies for complex projects.
  • At least 5 years in digital (Verilog), analog (FastSpice), or mixed-signal verification (co-sims or real number modeling).
  • Over 4 years working in custom (schematic-based) verification or RTL design verification flows.
  • Proven ability to independently define and drive verification strategies; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred: 9+ years in verification roles, one or more patents/publications, and experience with memory products using JEDEC specifications (preferably HBM) including building or reworking verification flows.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree in those fields is preferred. The posting also allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of an advanced degree.
