Staff Engineer - HBM Verification
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Staff Engineer - HBM Verification
Role Summary
Lead pre-silicon verification for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and emerging memory architectures. Work within a global engineering team to define verification strategy, execute complex full‑chip verification, and improve functional coverage and design quality.
Experience Level
Senior-level - typically requires eight or more years of experience in pre‑silicon verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification for complex full-chip builds, improving verification methodologies, and collaborating with distributed engineering teams.
- Lead verification strategy and execution for complex full‑chip custom builds, including low‑power and power‑management features.
- Simulate, analyze, and debug pre‑silicon builds to identify functional issues and drive resolution.
- Design testbenches, test cases, stimulus, and vectors to advance functional coverage for HBM and related architectures.
- Develop and improve verification methodologies, regression flows, and coverage‑analysis processes.
- Collaborate across global build and verification teams and apply AI/automation tools where appropriate to streamline triage and analysis.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and demonstrated verification skills.
- Eight or more years of experience in pre‑silicon verification, including simulation and debugging of complex digital or full‑chip builds.
- Proficiency developing and simulating verification environments, testbenches, test cases, and stimulus.
- Experience analyzing digital circuits, troubleshooting simulation results, and improving functional coverage via structured problem solving.
- Experience leading technical verification activities and collaborating with cross‑functional or geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Strong debugging, simulation analysis, and regression management skills.
- Nice-to-have: experience with UVM, Build for Testability (BFT), critical‑path/data‑path timing analysis, full‑chip verification with power/performance/bandwidth constraints, and use of AI‑enabled automation tools.
