Job Title
Staff Engineer - HBM Analog Design
Role Summary
Senior analog design engineer responsible for designing, implementing, validating, and integrating advanced analog and mixed-signal IP for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) products. Works across layout, verification, modeling, and product integration teams to deliver manufacturable DRAM analog circuitry.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff-level). No explicit years-of-experience stated.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, verification, integration, and delivery of analog and mixed-signal circuits for advanced DRAM products.
- Design and implement complex analog circuits: CMOS amplifiers, comparators, bandgap references, LDOs, charge pumps, oscillators, DLLs, I/O buffers, analog test muxes, process monitors, and temperature sensors.
- Design synchronous and asynchronous custom digital blocks for mixed-signal integration.
- Perform parasitic extraction, modeling, design validation, reticle experiments, and tape-out revisions.
- Oversee and manage layout including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
- Perform verification with modeling and industry-standard simulators; collaborate with CAD, modeling, and verification teams.
- Work with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, and Product Engineering to ensure manufacturability.
- Lead and mentor junior designers; drive cross-group communication and standardization.
- Apply AI tools and agentic AI models to improve engineering efficiency and PPA optimization.
Requirements
Must-have technical capabilities and practical experience for successful performance in this role.
- Proven track record designing analog/mixed-signal circuits listed in Responsibilities for advanced semiconductor products.
- Hands-on experience with layout coordination, parasitic-aware design, tape-out flow, and industry-standard simulators.
- Experience leading or mentoring design teams and coordinating across engineering groups.
- Strong proficiency with AI-assisted engineering workflows; familiarity with agentic AI models and tools (experience using tools such as Claude is beneficial).
- Ability to collaborate with test, process integration, and product engineering to ensure manufacturability.
- Good communication skills and experience contributing to standards and verification practices.
Education Requirements
