Job Title
Staff Engineer - HBM Analog Design
Role Summary
Lead design and integration of complex analog IP for advanced DRAM/HBM products. The role owns analog circuit implementation, layout oversight, verification, and cross-functional coordination to ensure manufacturable, optimized designs.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff level). Years of experience not specified in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, tape-out activities, and team leadership:
- Design and integrate complex analog circuits (CMOS amplifiers, comparators, bandgap references, LDOs, charge pumps, oscillators, DLLs, I/O buffers, analog test mux, process monitors, temperature sensors) for advanced DRAM/HBM products.
- Design and integrate synchronous and asynchronous custom digital blocks that interface with analog IP.
- Contribute to overall product architecture, layout planning, and PPA optimization.
- Perform parasitic modeling, design validation, reticle experiments, and required tape-out revisions.
- Oversee and manage physical implementation including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
- Execute verification using industry-standard modeling and simulation tools.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, and Product Engineering to ensure manufacturability.
- Engage with Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification teams to improve design quality and standardization.
- Mentor and lead junior designers.
- Apply AI tools and agentic AI models (e.g., Claude) to improve engineering efficiency and accelerate delivery.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and experience, plus a few preferred items:
-
Must-have: Proven analog IC design experience for high-performance memory products, including the analog blocks listed above.
-
Must-have: Strong physical design knowledge (floor-planning, placement, routing) and experience with parasitic extraction and tape-out flows.
-
Must-have: Proficiency with industry-standard simulation and verification methodologies and tools.
-
Must-have: Demonstrated ability to lead designs, mentor engineers, and work cross-functionally.
-
Must-have: Strong AI proficiency and familiarity with agentic AI models and toolchains to enhance PPA and delivery timelines.
-
Nice-to-have: Prior experience specifically with HBM/DRAM product development and PPA-driven optimization.
