Role Summary
Senior Automotive Field Applications Engineer responsible for promoting and enabling ADI's GMSL video serializer/deserializer (SerDes) solutions with European automotive OEMs and Tier1 suppliers. The role provides design-in support, drives technical problem resolution, and influences SerDes product roadmaps in collaboration with ADI business units and systems engineering.
Reports to the FAE Technical Leader Automotive EMEA. Location: Munich preferred; home office possible.
Experience Level
Senior - more than 5 years of engineering and/or semiconductor experience (posting specifies >5 years).
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include customer engagement, technical leadership during design-in, and influencing product direction.
- Engage automotive OEM and Tier1 customers to identify requirements and sales opportunities for SerDes solutions.
- Provide design-in support for GMSL video serializer and deserializer products and drive SerDes design-in activities at assigned customers.
- Collaborate with ADI business units and systems engineering to define next-generation SerDes products and contribute to product roadmaps.
- Lead resolution of SerDes-related technical issues across design and sales phases to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFQs and assist in product and tool definition.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customer experts and internal stakeholders.
- Travel to customers and events (approximately 25β30% travel as specified).
Requirements

- Experience in engineering and/or semiconductors (posting specifies >5 years).
- Good understanding of automotive systems engineering and vehicle architecture.
- System knowledge of car infotainment and ADAS architectures.
- Product-level knowledge of video serializer and deserializer (SerDes) solutions.
- Technical presentation and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player.
- Driver's license (required).
- Available for travel (around 25β30%).
Preferred:
- German (minimum C1) and English (minimum C1) language skills.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (listed as BS/MS in the posting).
