Staff Engineer - Embedded Software Test
Role Summary
Responsible for defining and governing scalable SQA strategy and embedded software test frameworks for Radio IC and SoC products. Build reusable automation, integrate CI/CD validation, and provide audit-ready traceability to reduce defect escape and improve measurable quality outcomes.
Provide technical leadership and cross-functional influence to standardize practices and improve quality across geographically distributed programs.

Responsibilities
Lead test strategy, framework architecture, and quality metrics for embedded software delivery.
- Define and govern SQA strategy, ensuring requirements-to-test traceability and audit-ready evidence.
- Architect and evolve reusable embedded test frameworks, libraries, infrastructure, and toolchains.
- Integrate test frameworks into CI/CD pipelines and define automated quality gates.
- Define and track quality metrics (coverage, defect escape, regression stability, CI health) and drive corrective actions.
- Perform defect trend analysis, root-cause investigations, and implement preventive measures.
- Advise software and systems teams on testability and quality; influence cross-functional practices.
- Lead audits, risk assessments, and change management related to software quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of software development and quality processes.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Proven experience in embedded software testing and validation; experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Python for test development.
- Experience with embedded systems, hardware/software interaction, and debugging.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., Jenkins, Git-based pipelines) and test/defect management tools.
- Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills.
- Willingness to travel (~10%).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with HIL/SIL environments and system-level validation.
- Domain experience in high-speed data converters, RF, or mixed-signal systems.
- Familiarity with ASPICE and ISO 9001 quality frameworks and quality metrics dashboards.
- Experience supporting audits and implementing organization-wide testing standards.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
