Job Title
Staff Engineer, Digital Design Engineering
Role Summary
Responsible for end-to-end digital SoC design for high-performance MCU/DSP/NPU products used in automotive and industrial applications. The role owns design execution from architecture and RTL through synthesis, timing closure, and silicon bring-up, collaborating closely with verification, DFT, and physical design teams.
Experience Level
Senior β 5+ years of experience in digital IC / SoC design with demonstrated ownership of complex IPs or SoC designs.
Responsibilities
Deliver production-ready digital blocks and subsystems and drive implementation and integration activities.
- Define and develop system- and block-level digital architectures.
- Lead RTL design and micro-architecture decisions to meet performance, power, and area targets.
- Produce detailed block and subsystem design specifications and implementation reports.
- Collaborate with verification teams on verification planning, waveform debug, regression, coverage sign-off, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in implementation flows: lint, CDC, constraints, synthesis, STA, formal verification, ECO, timing and power closure.
- Support silicon bring-up, characterization, and hardware debug.
- Drive methodology improvements and share best practices across teams.
Requirements
Core skills and experience required, followed by common preferred skills.
-
Must-have: 5+ years in digital IC / SoC design with ownership of complex IPs or SoC designs.
-
Must-have: Strong hands-on RTL design experience and experience in digital architecture and SoC integration.
-
Must-have: Solid understanding of block- and system-level verification methodologies and flows.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with EDA flows (synthesis, static timing analysis) and scripting (Python, Tcl, Perl).
-
Must-have: Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work cross-functionally.
-
Must-have: Able and willing to travel up to 10% as required.
-
Nice-to-have: Knowledge of computer architecture, digital signal processing, or CPU/DSP/NPU design.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with SoC interconnect protocols (ACE/AXI/AHB).
-
Nice-to-have: Experience or awareness of AI-assisted tools to improve design productivity.
Education Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (as stated in the posting).
