Job Title
Staff Engineer, Design Verification (Verification IP)
Role Summary
Design, develop, and maintain Verification IP (VIP) and verification environments to validate industry-standard protocols. Work with R&D, Design IP teams, and customers to create coverage-driven verification plans, debug complex protocol issues, and deliver scalable VIP products.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting specifies 5+ years of hands-on experience developing Verification IP.
Responsibilities
Deliver and maintain verification IP and verification plans that exercise protocol corner cases and scale across products.
- Develop and maintain VIP using SystemVerilog and UVM for protocols such as AMBA, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, UEC, UAL, and MIPI.
- Create verification plans mapping protocol specifications to test scenarios, coverage goals, and corner-case strategies.
- Implement sequences, test scenarios, and checkers to drive functional and code coverage.
- Debug complex simulation failures across multi-layer protocol stacks and customer integration environments.
- Improve VIP performance, reusability, and scalability as protocols and customer needs evolve.
- Support customers and field teams during VIP integration and deployment; troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
- Collaborate with Design IP and product teams to align VIP features with roadmaps and customer requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing Verification IP (VIP).
- Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM methodology for building reusable, scalable verification environments.
- Deep practical experience with NVMe (mandatory) and working knowledge of at least one other protocol such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, or MIPI.
- Experience building BFMs, IP integration, or VIP components.
- Proven ability to create and execute coverage-driven verification plans, including functional and code coverage analysis.
- Strong debugging skills for complex simulation failures across protocol layers and integration boundaries.
- Ability to work independently and in teams; strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience working directly with customers or field teams during product deployment is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
