Job Title

Staff Engineer, Design Verification Engineering

Role Summary

As a Staff Engineer in Design Verification you will lead verification of complex digital IP and SoC blocks using UVM and formal methods. You will architect and implement scalable testbenches, define test plans, and coordinate with design, firmware, and analog teams to achieve verification closure.

This is a hands-on senior technical role focused on ensuring functional correctness and integration of accelerators, processor subsystems, and high-speed interfaces.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 6 to 10 years of experience in semiconductor design verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Verify complex designs (accelerators, datapath IP, processor subsystems, high-speed interfaces) using UVM and formal verification.
  • Architect and develop scalable UVM/formal verification environments and package them for integration into DV flows.
  • Define test plans, create tests, and drive coverage-based verification to demonstrate convergence.
  • Integrate block-level testbenches into subsystem/top-level environments and support co-simulation and firmware interactions.
  • Evaluate and benchmark third-party and home-grown IP for DV readiness and recommend integration approaches.
  • Support post-silicon verification activities with design, product evaluation, and applications engineering teams.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills.

Must-have:
  • 6–10 years of design verification experience using UVM, constrained-random stimulus, and coverage-driven methodologies.
  • Strong DV architecture skills to build scalable testbenches and realize first-pass success.
  • Experience translating DV requirements and test plans into robust environments and coverage metrics.
  • Experience with formal verification and assertion-based verification techniques.
  • Experience using AI tools in DV workflows.
  • Excellent debugging, analytical, and communication skills; able to work with geographically distributed teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with ASIC/SoC product DV and productization.
  • Familiarity with on-chip interfaces and high-speed protocols (DDR, Ethernet, PCIe, MIPI, eMMC/SD, HDMI, DisplayPort).
  • Knowledge of processor/SoC architecture or DSP fundamentals.

Education Requirements

Minimum B.E. / B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
