Staff Engineer, Design Verification Engineering
Role Summary
Technical lead for verification of complex analog and mixed-signal designs. Owns verification strategy and architecture, mentors engineering teams, and coordinates cross-functional verification and sign-off activities.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 7β10+ years of relevant digital and mixed-signal design verification experience.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for verification projects and ensure verification closure for complex designs.
- Architect and lead verification strategy for complex digital and mixed-signal designs.
- Design and implement UVM-based verification environments and testbenches.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers; drive methodology adoption across teams.
- Coordinate with design teams to define verification requirements and sign-off criteria.
- Lead complex debugging across RTL and gate-level simulations and drive resolutions.
- Drive functional and code coverage closure using coverage-driven methodologies.
- Lead post-silicon validation and represent the team with customers and partners.
- Travel as required (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required for the role.
- Expert SystemVerilog and UVM experience for building advanced verification environments.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive verification plans and coverage-driven strategies.
- Deep understanding of mixed-signal verification methodologies and challenges.
- Advanced debugging skills across multiple design abstractions (RTL, gate-level).
- Extensive experience with EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys) and formal verification techniques.
- Advanced scripting and automation skills (Python, Perl, Tcl, Shell) to build verification frameworks.
- Demonstrated technical leadership: mentoring, influencing design and verification direction.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
