Job Title

Staff Engineer, Design Verification

Role Summary

As a SoC-level design verification engineer within the Custom Compute, Storage and Automotive Business Unit, you will develop and maintain UVM testbench components and other verification collateral to ensure design quality across complex SoC architectures.

Collaborate with architects and designers to define test strategies, implement verification environments, run regressions, and resolve failures. This role may require eligibility to access export-controlled information under U.S. law.

Experience Level

Senior — posting specifies 3+ years post-Bachelor or 2+ years post-Master/PhD experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Analyze architectures and designs to produce comprehensive verification test plans and strategies.
  • Develop and maintain UVM testbench components and verification environments.
  • Create, run, and maintain tests to meet coverage goals and manage regression suites.
  • Debug failures, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with designers.
  • Maintain verification documentation and bug-tracking records.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Strong experience with SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Proven ability to write and execute detailed verification test plans.
  • Familiarity with verification tools, regression frameworks, and bug-tracking workflows.
  • Basic proficiency in C/C++.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
  • Working knowledge of Linux.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • SoC-level verification experience and familiarity with protocols such as PCIe, CXL, or Ethernet.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of related professional experience; or a Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of experience.
