Staff Engineer, Customer Validation

Role Summary

Experienced individual contributor responsible for end-to-end customer-focused system validation for enterprise and data-center SSD platforms. Owns validation execution for assigned platforms, contributes to test planning and development, and provides technical guidance across firmware, hardware, and system teams without formal management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this role include planning and executing system-level validation and qualification for SSD platforms and collaborating with multi-functional teams.

• Plan and complete customer-specific SSD/system validation cycles and qualification runs independently.
• Set up, configure, and validate environments including systems, firmware, OS, and platform settings.
• Analyze validation results, identify failures, perform debug, and assess risk to determine next steps.
• Develop, extend, and maintain validation test cases, scripts, and automation.
• Serve as technical owner for assigned projects, mentor peers, and share validation guidelines across teams.
• Apply Artificial Intelligence techniques to improve validation efficiency and automation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Strong knowledge of NVMe and PCIe protocols and system-level debugging across firmware and hardware domains.
• Hands-on experience performing system-level validation in complex hardware/software environments.
• Cross-functional experience collaborating with firmware, hardware, system, and product teams.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or similar programming languages and experience with test automation.
• Solid understanding of validation methodologies and ability to develop and maintain test suites.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience supporting OEM, hyperscale, or cloud customer validation programs.
• Proven ownership of customer-facing validation execution for platforms or programs.
• Experience mentoring peers or providing technical leadership within validation teams.
• Familiarity with industry certifications, compatibility testing, and joint qualification processes.
• Strong communication skills for technical discussions with multi-functional partners.
