Job Title
Staff Engineer, ASIC Validation
Role Summary
Lead ASIC validation and pre-silicon SoC deployment on HAPS platforms. Focus on FPGA prototyping, subsystem bring-up (PCIe, LPDDR, ONFI), validation planning, and cross-functional coordination with design, firmware, and system teams.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 8 years of processor-based SoC and HAPS implementation experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Own SoC deployment and validation on pre-silicon platforms (HAPS80 required; HAPS100 preferred).
- Develop and execute validation plans for PCIe, LPDDR, ONFI and related subsystems.
- Perform FPGA prototyping and emulation using Xilinx Vivado, Protocompiler, and HAPS flows.
- Run processor-based simulations and debug test cases using VCS and SOC C-based flows.
- Write and debug Verilog RTL for FPGA bring-up when required.
- Perform root-cause analysis across hardware and RTL layers using FPGA debug tools (e.g., Chipscope).
- Collaborate with firmware, AE, design, and overseas teams for bring-up and issue resolution.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills:
- Must: Hands-on experience with Xilinx Ultrascale FPGA, Vivado flow, and Protocompiler; practical FPGA debug experience (Chipscope).
- Must: Minimum 8 years of processor-based SoC validation and HAPS implementation experience (HAPS80 required; HAPS100 preferred).
- Must: Strong Verilog coding and RTL debug skills.
- Must: Experience running SOC C-based simulations and using VCS.
- Must: Scripting proficiency in Python, Perl, or TCL.
- Must: Strong root-cause debugging across hardware and RTL layers.
- Preferred: Knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, LPDDR, ONFI, AXI or other industry-standard interfaces.
- Good written and oral communication; effective team collaboration and professional conduct.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in engineering disciplines.
