Job Title
Staff Engineer, Analog/Mixed-Signal Design
Role Summary
Lead the design and development of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for battery monitoring applications within the Automotive Electrification Business Unit. Work with cross-functional teams to deliver ADCs, references, oscillators, and power converters that meet performance, safety, and reliability targets.
Experience Level
Senior β 8+ years of analog and mixed-signal design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on circuit design, cross-functional collaboration, and technical leadership.
- Lead design and development of precision analog and mixed-signal circuits for battery monitoring (ADCs, references, oscillators, power converters).
- Incorporate functional safety requirements (e.g., ISO 26262) into architecture and design decisions.
- Support silicon evaluation, debug, failure analysis, and bring-up activities.
- Conduct and drive effective design reviews, requirements traceability, and documentation.
- Collaborate with layout, verification, test, applications, and system teams to meet schedule and product goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship; improve analog design methods and practices across the team.
- Travel as required (approx. 10%) for cross-site collaboration and silicon debug.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and demonstrated experience.
- 8+ years of analog and mixed-signal IC design experience focused on precision signal chains.
- Strong expertise in precision analog building blocks, references, oscillators, and power conversion circuits.
- Deep understanding of mixed-signal integration challenges: power-domain crossings, signal integrity, and noise management.
- Practical knowledge of layout-sensitive analog considerations: matching, parasitics, shielding, isolation, and floor-planning tradeoffs.
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety standards and their application to circuit and product design.
- Proven ability to work across disciplines, guide cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering (posted requirement). No other degree fields or certifications were specified; equivalent-experience language was not provided.
