Job Title
Staff Engineer, Analog/Mixed Signal Design
Role Summary
Lead the design and delivery of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for battery monitoring systems within the Automotive Electrification Business Unit. Work spans architecture, circuit design, silicon bring-up, and cross-functional coordination to produce production-ready ADCs, references, oscillators, and power converters.
Role supports automotive electrification products (battery management systems); some travel (~10%) and a first-shift/day schedule are required.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Approximately 8+ years of analog and mixed-signal design experience is expected.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead design of precision analog and mixed-signal circuits for battery monitoring applications (ADCs, references, oscillators, power converters).
- Incorporate functional safety considerations into circuit architecture and design decisions.
- Support silicon evaluation, bring-up, debug, and failure analysis to ensure robust performance and reliability.
- Conduct and lead design reviews; generate requirements traceability and clear documentation.
- Collaborate with layout, verification, test, applications, and system teams to meet program schedules.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers; improve analog design methods and practices.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 8+ years of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit design experience.
- Strong expertise in precision analog circuits and signal-chain building blocks.
- Deep understanding of mixed-signal integration challenges: power-domain crossings, signal integrity, noise management, and system-level tradeoffs.
- Awareness of layout-sensitive analog design: matching, parasitics, shielding, isolation, and floor-planning tradeoffs.
- Experience with silicon evaluation, debug, and failure analysis.
- Familiarity with ISO26262 functional safety standards and ability to apply safety concepts to product design.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor engineers.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience specifically with battery management systems and automotive-grade designs.
- Hands-on experience with ADC and power converter architectures for battery-monitoring applications.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering. Master's or PhD in related electrical/computer engineering disciplines may be acceptable.
