Job Title

Staff Engineer, Analog Design Engineering

Role Summary

Senior analog IC design engineer in the Custom Silicon Solutions (CSS) group focused on mixed-signal solutions for portable consumer applications. The role works with cross-site engineering teams (Valencia, Cork, Limerick, Newbury) to define architectures, implement transistor-level blocks, and drive product delivery from concept through validation.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 8+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC design experience and experience owning blocks or systems.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-performance mixed-signal IC blocks and support their integration into larger systems.

  • Collaborate with analog/mixed-signal teams across multiple ADI sites.
  • Define block-level architectures and contribute to system-level partitioning.
  • Perform transistor-level circuit design and simulation.
  • Prepare and present technical results to internal teams and customers.
  • Use recommended design and verification flows to meet functional, power and timing targets.
  • Integrate blocks into mixed-signal systems and support layout, lab evaluation and test.
  • Improve analog design methodologies to reduce development time and cost.
  • Travel as required (approximately 10%).

Requirements

Key skills and experience required or preferred for successful performance in this role.

  • Must-have: 8+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC design experience.
  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of analog and mixed-signal electronics, tools and flows.
  • Must-have: Proven ability to take full cell or system ownership from architecture through implementation and debug.
  • Must-have: Strong leadership, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
  • Must-have: Experience supporting layout, lab evaluation and test to ensure delivery.
  • Nice-to-have: Design experience with amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, bias circuits, LDOs, switching power supplies, audio circuits, or similar analog blocks.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience integrating analog blocks (converters, power management) into complex microcontroller or mixed-signal systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering (or related electronic/electrical engineering field) was specified in the posting.
