Staff Engineer, Advanced Cores Design Evaluation Engineering

Role Summary

Technical lead responsible for evaluation, characterization, and validation of advanced ADC, DAC, and high-speed serial (SERDES) IP. Work hands-on in the lab and collaborate with design, test, applications, and product teams to qualify silicon and enable production-ready transceiver and converter products.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 5+ years of industry experience in RF/mixed-signal product engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include evaluation, test development, debugging, and cross-functional technical support.

  • Lead evaluation and characterization of ADCs, DACs, and high-speed serial interfaces.
  • Debug and analyze mixed-signal and RF systems across operating conditions; document and present results.
  • Perform functional and performance testing of new silicon and embedded software to determine production readiness.
  • Develop and automate test solutions using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW and similar tools.
  • Use precision measurement equipment (network/spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators) to establish performance metrics.
  • Recommend improvements for testability, manufacturability, and qualification; support field quality efforts.
  • Interface with design, applications, marketing, and customers to resolve product issues and contribute system-level solutions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical laboratory experience.

  • Proven experience automating RF tests and working with advanced lab equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
  • Strong programming and debug skills in Python, MATLAB, and LabVIEW; familiarity with C/C++ or similar languages.
  • Deep knowledge of analog and RF circuits, high-speed serial interfaces, ADCs/DACs, and mixed-signal systems.
  • Hands-on laboratory proficiency and experience developing test solutions for silicon verification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with customers.
  • No travel required.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field (as stated in the posting).
