Job Title

Staff Engineer, Advanced Cores Design Evaluation Engineering

Role Summary

Lead technical evaluation, characterization, and validation of advanced ADC, DAC, and SERDES IP to ensure performance and production readiness. Collaborate with design, test, applications, and product teams to diagnose issues, define test strategies, and deliver measurement-based recommendations for transceiver and mixed-signal systems.

Work is lab-focused and includes development of automated test solutions, hands-on measurement, and data analysis to support product releases across multiple business units.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires 5+ years of industry experience in RF/mixed-signal product engineering.

Responsibilities

Core duties include:

  • Lead evaluation and characterization of ADCs, DACs, and high-speed serial interfaces for transceiver products.
  • Debug and analyze complex mixed-signal and RF systems across operating conditions; document and present findings.
  • Perform functional and performance testing of new silicon and embedded software to support production release decisions.
  • Develop and automate test solutions using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and related tools.
  • Use precision measurement equipment (network/spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators) to establish performance metrics.
  • Provide recommendations on testability, manufacturability, and qualification readiness; support field quality efforts.
  • Work as a central resource for design, applications, and marketing teams; engage with customers to resolve product issues.
  • Analyze measurement data and contribute to system-level solutions for transceiver products.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience (concise):

  • Proven expertise automating RF tests and operating advanced lab equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
  • Strong programming and debug skills in Python, MATLAB, and LabVIEW; familiarity with C/C++ or similar languages.
  • Deep knowledge of analog and RF circuits, high-speed serial interfaces, ADCs/DACs, and mixed-signal systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug complex mixed-signal/RF issues and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, global teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with embedded software testing for silicon devices.
  • Background in system-level transceiver solutions and customer-facing issue resolution.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field (as stated in the minimum qualifications).
