Role Summary

Hands-on verification engineer on SiFive's CPU verification team responsible for developing SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and tests for high-performance RISC-V CPUs. The role focuses on using and extending internal test generators, targeting coverage and test-plan scenarios, and integrating third-party VIPs.

Experience Level

Senior - 7–12 years of design verification experience, preferably in CPU verification.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities include development of verification infrastructure, test creation, and collaboration with architecture and validation teams to close coverage:

• Develop SystemVerilog/UVM testbench components and write directed and generated tests for CPU verification.
• Use and extend internal test generators to produce targeted RISC-V tests and exercise test-plan scenarios.
• Implement and execute tests to achieve coverage goals and validate micro-architectural behavior.
• Integrate and validate third-party VIPs (bus VIPs) and verify bus interfaces such as AXI and PCIe.
• Automate verification flows and tooling; develop scripts and utilities to support verification (preferably Python).
• Collaborate with micro-architecture, validation, and integration teams to diagnose issues and close verification gaps.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• 7–12 years of experience in design verification, with significant CPU verification exposure.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience writing tests and implementing test plans for CPU architectures.
• Knowledge of CPU micro-architecture and familiarity with CPU architectures (RISC-V, x86, ARM).
• Scripting skills, preferably Python.
• Bus interface knowledge (AXI or PCIe) and experience integrating third-party VIPs.
