Role Summary

Work within Arm's Solutions Engineering team to plan and execute SoC-level verification for subsystems and full SoC designs. The role focuses on validating system operation across CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, memory controllers and interconnects, and ensuring correct hardware/software interaction.

This is a hands-on verification role requiring collaboration with architecture, design, modelling, silicon validation, FPGA and board teams; senior hires will also mentor junior engineers. The position is based in Cambridge with a hybrid working arrangement. Arm will cover employer-side sponsorship costs where required; relocation support is not offered.

Responsibilities

Accountable for SoC verification delivery, quality, and coordination across teams.

• Develop and execute SoC test plans and verification methodologies.
• Perform functional verification to meet quality standards and schedules.
• Plan and track verification progress, quality checkpoints, and schedules with project leads.
• Ensure integration and interaction between hardware and software layers are validated.
• Collaborate with architecture, design, implementation, modelling, performance analysis, silicon validation, FPGA, and board development teams.
• Mentor and guide junior verification engineers (senior roles).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical verification experience.

• Proven experience in embedded C/C++ based SoC verification environments.
• Strong understanding of assembly language (preferably ARM).
• Proficiency with hardware verification languages such as SystemVerilog and common scripting languages (Tcl, Perl, Python, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with UVM and at least one of: formal verification, low-power verification, or emulation.
• Exposure across verification stages: requirements collection, methodology and test plan creation, testbench development, test case implementation, and documentation/support.
• Practical experience verifying processor-based system designs.
• Clear communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with Arm system architectures.
• Experience with power-aware design and Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) verification.
• Knowledge of embedded OS, device drivers, and hardware/software integration.
• Experience verifying interfaces and subsystems such as PCIe, LPDDR, HBM, UCIe, and Ethernet.
• Experience developing and deploying large SoCs on emulation or FPGA platforms.
