Join the Cloud and Data Center Equipment Business Unit to develop and validate next-generation power solutions for hyperscale cloud and AI infrastructure customers. The role combines power electronics, embedded systems, firmware, and customer-facing applications engineering.
Hands-on systems engineering work: evaluate ICs and system solutions, build and validate hardware and firmware, automate lab tests, and engage directly with customers (approx. 20–30% customer-facing).
Experience Level
Senior-level. Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience; 7+ years preferred.
Responsibilities
Deliver hardware and firmware evaluations, system analysis, and customer-facing technical support for power management solutions.
- Evaluate and characterize power management ICs and system-level solutions.
- Design, build, and validate hardware evaluation platforms and reference designs.
- Develop and debug embedded firmware for demonstrations and optimization.
- Create tools, scripts, and automated test solutions to improve lab efficiency and product evaluation.
- Support customers with schematic and PCB layout reviews, system bring-up, and troubleshooting.
- Perform system-level analysis, debugging, and optimization of power conversion architectures.
- Generate technical documentation: application notes, reference designs, evaluation reports, and datasheet content.
- Lead or independently execute technical projects and act as a subject matter expert.
- Represent the company in technical engagements with cloud and data center customers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, hands-on lab experience, and customer communication abilities.
- Minimum 5+ years industry experience in applications engineering, systems engineering, power electronics, embedded systems, firmware development, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of power electronics fundamentals and DC-DC power conversion.
- Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based development.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with electrical characterization, debugging, and validation.
- Experience designing and troubleshooting PCB-based hardware systems.
- Programming or scripting experience using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical interactions with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Nice-to-have: experience supporting cloud/AI/data center power applications, test/lab automation, power electronics simulation tools (LTspice, SIMPLIS), digital control systems, and leadership/mentoring experience.
Education Requirements
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required (as listed in minimum qualifications).
