Job Title

Staff Embedded Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join the System Solutions team to support, maintain and develop product-quality system firmware for Arm Neoverse CSS-based infrastructure platforms. The role is focused on downstream firmware support, defect management, and collaborating with firmware and release teams to deliver stable customer releases.

Experience Level

Senior (Staff) level β€” senior/lead experience expected.

Responsibilities

The role centers on sustaining and improving production firmware and coordinating customer-facing release activity.

  • Support and maintain downstream product-quality firmware for Neoverse CSS platforms.
  • Act as primary customer interface for post-launch support and maintenance requests.
  • Perform defect triage, defect management, and defect fixing.
  • Back-port features and fixes to downstream releases as required.
  • Coordinate with release teams on downstream update schedules and delivery.
  • Work with firmware development teams on design and implementation for Neoverse CPU and system IP platforms.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: Expert C programming for embedded systems and strong debugging skills.
  • Experience in development and maintenance of product-quality firmware, including bootloaders and device drivers.
  • Defect triaging and defect management experience for system software.
  • Practical knowledge of industry specifications such as UEFI and ACPI.
  • Familiarity with RAS, hypervisors, CXL, power management, and security concepts.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience supporting production firmware in the server segment; experience contributing to open-source projects (Linux kernel, TF-A, UEFI EDK II, OpenBMC); customer triage and support experience; Rust programming knowledge.
