Work with platform architects, software, SoC, characterisation and verification teams and external partners to deliver development and validation platforms.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role title indicates senior/lead responsibility; no specific years-of-experience requirement is stated.
Responsibilities
Accountable for the architecture, specification and delivery of board projects and for leading a mixed-experience hardware team.
- Define engineering specifications and system-level requirements for development boards.
- Architect, design, commission and validate new hardware platforms for internal teams and partners.
- Lead and mentor the board-level hardware design team and provide technical guidance.
- Coordinate with platform architects, silicon, software, characterisation and verification teams.
- Manage relationships with ODMs/CEMs and external design partners during NPI and product delivery.
- Drive planning, task tracking, risk management and status reporting for hardware projects.
Requirements
Core technical and delivery skills required to lead complex board-level projects.
- Experience capturing requirements, developing design specifications and guiding a board-level hardware team.
- Strong understanding of compute architectures and embedded system/board design involving complex SoC devices.
- Hands-on experience with EDA tools for schematic entry, PCB layout and signal/power integrity (for example Cadence OrCAD CIS, Allegro PCB design suite).
- Practical knowledge of high-speed digital design (PCIe, LPDDR), signal integrity and routing guidelines for complex PCB stack-ups.
- Recent experience across the full hardware development lifecycle, including NPI and collaboration with CEMs/ODMs.
- Proven interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and drive team delivery.
- Strong planning, prioritisation, problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to fast-paced change.
Nice-to-have:
