Staff/Director Compute Roadmap Strategy and Planning Product Manager
Role Summary
Lead definition and execution of compute chipset product and silicon/IP roadmaps for Snapdragon-based PCs and other compute form factors. Partner with engineering, architecture, business, and ecosystem stakeholders to translate market, customer, and technology signals into product strategies, investment priorities, and go-to-market positioning.
Experience Level
Senior - minimum 5+ years of product management experience; preferred 10+ years, especially with PC or laptop processors.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end product strategy and roadmap planning for compute chipset products and drive cross-functional execution.
- Lead chipset processor roadmap strategy from concept through execution and end-of-life.
- Analyze market, customer, technology, and ecosystem gaps and translate findings into product definitions and priorities.
- Define silicon and IP investment priorities across CPU, GPU, NPU, memory, I/O, connectivity, security, multimedia, and power.
- Partner with engineering and architecture teams to evaluate trade-offs and prioritize scalable platform roadmaps balancing performance, power, cost, schedule, and reuse.
- Translate AI and workload trends into platform requirements for on-device and hybrid AI, including LLMs, transformer workloads, bandwidth and memory needs, and accelerator partitioning.
- Develop business cases, validate alignment with business strategy, and present roadmap recommendations to senior leadership.
- Represent product and technology externally via technical marketing, conferences, and direct customer engagement.
- Ensure cross-functional delivery by tracking KPIs, specifications, and readiness at product launch.
Requirements
Must-have experience, technical skills, and capabilities.
- 5+ years of product management or related experience (minimum requirement).
- Deep knowledge of the PC processor market, OEMs/ODMs, device requirements, performance expectations, and competitive dynamics.
- Proven ability to lead roadmap strategy and prioritize silicon/IP investments across system components.
- Experience translating software ecosystem and OEM requirements into silicon/platform requirements.
- Strong cross-functional leadership with demonstrated success building business cases and aligning stakeholders.
- Technical fluency in CPU, GPU, NPU, memory, and system architecture trade-offs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills for technical and executive audiences.
Nice-to-have:
- 10+ years of product management experience in PC or laptop processors.
- Direct experience as a silicon product manager working with customers, OEMs, and ODMs.
- Experience marketing complex semiconductor products and driving adoption across ecosystems.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required. Advanced degrees (Master's, Doctorate) may substitute for up to two years of work experience (Master's = 1 year, Doctorate = 2 years). MBA is preferred. Equivalent technical/product experience in lieu of degrees is not specified.
