Staff/Director Compute Chipset Product Manager

Role Summary

Lead the Compute Chipset Product Management team responsible for the Windows on Snapdragon portfolio (laptops, notebooks, desktops, all-in-ones, and other compute form factors). Drive product strategy, define technical requirements, prioritize roadmap items, and work with engineering and OEM/ODM partners to secure design-ins and enable product launches across the full product lifecycle.

Experience Level

Senior role. Minimum: 5+ years of Product Management or related experience. Prefer candidates with extensive experience (e.g., 15+ years) in PC/laptop processor product management and the semiconductor ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Lead compute chipset products through concept, definition, execution, and end-of-life while coordinating across functions and customers.

  • Define and lead end-to-end PC chipset product strategy and roadmap.
  • Analyze market, customer, technology, and ecosystem needs to identify product opportunities and gaps.
  • Develop product positioning, feature specifications, and business-case justifications.
  • Partner with engineering to evaluate technical trade-offs and ensure products meet agreed KPIs and specifications.
  • Drive cross-functional decision-making and coordinate program sponsors on performance, cost, timeline, and customer schedules.
  • Engage with OEMs, ODMs, and channel partners to secure design wins and enable device launches.
  • Lead technical marketing, product demonstrations, and advanced technical presentations to customers and at industry events.
  • Translate customer feedback and external signals into roadmap recommendations and communicate with senior leadership.
  • Maintain competitive and technology awareness; lead innovation and articulate product differentiation.
  • Monitor AI trends (LLMs, model optimization, on-device/hybrid AI, accelerator attach platforms) and map capabilities to chipset opportunities.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience, plus concise preferred items.

  • 5+ years of product management or related experience focused on complex technology products.
  • Proven experience leading product lifecycles and delivering cross-functional programs.
  • Experience working directly with OEMs/ODMs and customer-facing product engagement.
  • Strong analytical, program management, and communication skills; capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations and marketing materials for technical and business audiences.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor product development, supply chain, and partner ecosystems (preferred).
  • Experience mapping AI and accelerator trends to product strategy (preferred).
  • Proven track record of defining product requirements and driving cross-functional execution (preferred).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required. Completed advanced degrees may substitute for up to two years of work experience (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years). An MBA is listed as preferred.
