Staff Digital Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Full-time, on-site senior verification engineer responsible for developing and maintaining UVM-based verification environments for complex IP and SoC designs. Collaborates with design, architecture and firmware teams to define verification plans, execute tests, debug RTL issues, and improve verification methodologies.
Experience Level
Senior - 6β14 years of experience in digital verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and maintain UVM-based verification environments, testbenches, and coverage models for IP and SoC blocks.
- Create and execute constrained-random and directed test cases and full regression suites.
- Develop verification plans from specifications and monitor coverage metrics.
- Debug RTL issues, perform root-cause analysis of failures, and collaborate with design, architecture, and firmware teams.
- Automate regression flows and tooling using scripting (Python/Perl/Tcl) and use simulators, waveform viewers, and coverage tools.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in design and verification reviews.
- Align verification activities with project schedules and quality standards; support cooperation with external teams and occasional business travel.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 6β14 years of digital verification experience with strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.
- Proven experience with constrained-random verification and coverage-driven verification.
- Experience with simulation, regression management, and coverage tools; ability to run and monitor regressions.
- Scripting skills for automation in Python, Perl, or Tcl.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture, bus protocols, and memory hierarchies.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills and effective communication in English.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Formal Verification techniques and tools.
- Semiconductor product development experience for automotive, industrial, or embedded systems.
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate code development, debugging, and verification.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Masterβs degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
