Staff Digital Engineer

Role Summary

Design and verify digital logic for mixed-signal ASICs and FPGA prototypes. Work on RTL design, synthesis, timing closure, DFT and verification in a cross-functional engineering team supporting pre- and post-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Senior role. The posting specifies a minimum of 4+ years of industry experience in digital integrated circuit design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Define, develop and optimize complex digital RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL) for low-power mixed-signal circuits; produce technical documentation and participate in design reviews. (40%)
• Support constraints definition, logic synthesis and physical design for timing closure, DFT insertion and test-vector creation. (15%)
• Develop verification plans and testbenches; perform RTL and gate-level simulation, timing analysis; support pre-silicon emulation and FPGA prototyping. (15%)
• Support silicon lab evaluation, performance characterization and debug. (10%)
• Interface with system, embedded firmware, analog, verification and cross-functional teams and provide technical support to test, product and application engineers. (20%)

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Minimum 4+ years industry experience in digital integrated circuit design.
• Solid knowledge of digital IC development across frontend-to-backend flow: timing closure, datapath design, signal processing, low-power techniques, constraints and timing analysis.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL; familiarity with verification methodologies (UVM/OVM) and formal verification.
• Experience with industry EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens) and synthesis/implementation flows.
• Background with MCU-based hardware systems (ARM, RISC-V, PIC, STM32), memories, micro-architecture, interfaces and dedicated peripherals.
• Experience with standard hardware protocols such as I2C, I3C, SPI and MIPI.
• Scripting skills (Python, Perl, Tcl), strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated technical ownership, ability to work independently and in teams, and strong verbal and written communication.

Nice-to-have:

• Digital development experience for mixed-signal ICs and hands-on FPGA prototyping.
• Experience with development boards and measurement tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters) and associated methods.
• System-level modelling and tools (Matlab), embedded firmware and application-level experience; experience with consumer or ITA market circuit development.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (as listed in the posting).
