Staff Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Staff Digital Design Engineer will design and develop digital modules for MCU and embedded processor platforms, lead microarchitecture and RTL development, and integrate IP while optimizing power, performance, and area. The role includes applying AI/ML techniques to automate design tasks, improve productivity, and enable intelligent debug and design-space exploration.

Experience Level

Senior — 8+ years of relevant digital design experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for RTL design, subsystem integration, and PPA-driven optimization across the digital design flow.

• Architect and develop digital modules for MCU and processor subsystems.
• Define microarchitecture specifications from product requirements.
• Write synthesizable RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog and perform IP integration.
• Analyze timing, power, area, and performance trade-offs; support synthesis and static timing analysis.
• Support FPGA prototyping, emulation, and silicon bring-up activities.
• Collaborate with architecture, verification, DFT, firmware, and validation teams.
• Apply AI/ML-driven methods for design automation, intelligent debug, and design-space exploration.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Strong digital design fundamentals.
• RTL design using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• MCU/MPU architecture understanding.
• AMBA protocols: AXI, AHB, APB.
• Clock-domain crossing and reset architecture experience.
• Low-power design methodologies.
• Synthesis and static timing analysis experience.
• FPGA prototyping and emulation experience.
• Experience in Linux development environments.
• Scripting skills (Python, Perl, or Tcl).
• Practical understanding of AI/ML concepts applied to design workflows.

Education Requirements

B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech. in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science Engineering.
