STAFF DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Work on SoC DFT activities for Broadcom APD designs including DFT architecture, test insertion and verification, pattern generation, coverage improvement, post-silicon debug and yield improvement. Collaborate with Physical Design and STA for DFT-mode timing closure and interact with external customers as required.

Experience Level

Senior-level role. Typical experience expectation: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver DFT solutions across design, verification and post-silicon phases; coordinate with cross-functional teams and mentor others.

• Define and implement DFT architecture for SoC designs.
• Perform DFT insertion and verification across the design flow.
• Generate test patterns and drive coverage-improvement activities.
• Run vector simulation and validate test vectors.
• Lead post-silicon debug and yield-improvement efforts.
• Work with Physical Design and STA teams to achieve DFT-mode timing closure.
• Interact with external customers and stakeholders as needed.
• Supervise, mentor, and coordinate work across geographically distributed teams.

Requirements

Core technical skills and abilities required; follow-on items are desirable.

• Must-have: Deep knowledge of DFT concepts and methodologies (ATPG, MBIST, IJTAG).
• Must-have: Hands-on experience with DFT insertion & verification, pattern generation, coverage improvement, vector simulation, and post-silicon debug.
• Must-have: Strong problem-solving and debugging skills; ability to work independently and lead tasks.
• Must-have: Excellent communication skills and experience working with distributed teams.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Mentor Graphics Tessent (Tessent Shell) and other DFT toolflows.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting proficiency (Perl, shell) to automate flows.
