Staff Design Verification Engineer - Coherent Interconnect

Role Summary

Join the team responsible for verification of the Arm Neoverse Coherent Mesh Network (CMN), a scalable system interconnect used in servers, storage, networking, HPC and AI platforms. The role focuses on planning and executing verification for next-generation interconnect IP and collaborating with architects and RTL designers to deliver correct silicon.

Experience Level

Senior - requires substantial prior experience; posting specifies 8+ years of hands-on verification/RTL design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include delivering verification plans, creating testbenches and closing coverage for complex coherent interconnect logic.

  • Develop and maintain detailed verification plans and strategies.
  • Collaborate with architects and RTL designers to debug and implement new features, balancing multiple stakeholder requirements.
  • Architect and implement efficient SystemVerilog / UVM based testbenches.
  • Create stimulus and coverage models, debug functional regressions, and drive coverage closure.
  • Drive improvements in verification methodology and flow.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in verification and RTL design.
  • Experience with CPU microarchitecture, including cache coherence, memory systems, and bus protocols (e.g. AMBA CHI, ACE).
  • Proven experience specifying, creating, and debugging SystemVerilog / UVM constrained-random testbenches.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and collaboration skills working with cross-functional engineering teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Applied experience with PCIe or Compute Express Link (CXL).
  • Familiarity with formal verification techniques.
  • Scripting experience (Python, Perl) to support automation and tooling.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
