Job Title
Staff Design Verification Engineer, AI HW
Role Summary
Member of the Tensix verification team validating AI compute cores, RISC-V CPUs, matrix/vector units, and chiplet-based subsystems. Build scalable DV environments and infrastructure to ensure fast, automated, production-grade verification.
Hybrid role based in Toronto, ON; Austin, TX; or Belgrade, Serbia.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff-level). Candidates at various levels may be considered and will be assessed during interviews.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include verification planning, environment development, and infrastructure improvements.
- Lead verification of Tensix IP and subsystems from early planning through tape-out; own and close coverage goals.
- Design and maintain reusable verification environments, agents, scoreboards, and supporting infrastructure in SystemVerilog and Python.
- Develop constrained-random and directed tests and close functional, code, and assertion coverage using data-driven approaches.
- Debug complex issues across RTL, testbench, and workload scenarios; collaborate with design, firmware, compiler, and architecture teams.
- Evolve DV infrastructure including regression flows, CI/CD integration, EDA compute environments, and reproducible setups.
- Work with simulation, emulation, and software-driven workloads to validate functional correctness and performance.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Strong SystemVerilog skills and experience with modern verification methodologies and structured testbench development.
- Experience across block-level to system-level verification and reasoning about microarchitecture from specs and waveforms.
- Proficient in Linux and scripting with Python or Bash to automate builds, parse logs, and manage CI pipelines.
- Experience with coverage-driven verification and confident debugging across RTL, testbench, and workload-driven scenarios.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (design, firmware, compiler, architecture).
- Nice to have: exposure to functional safety (FuSa) verification concepts for automotive AI workloads.
- Nice to have: familiarity with formal verification methodologies, SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), or formal property verification.
Education Requirements
