Job Title
Staff Design Engineer, DRAM
Role Summary
Responsible for circuit design and layout for next-generation DRAM products. The role owns design decisions affecting cost, quality, reliability, and time-to-market and partners with verification, product, and manufacturing teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The position expects experienced engineers; the posting specifies approximately 5+ years of CMOS and VLSI circuit design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on design, layout, verification, and cross-functional coordination.
- Design, layout, and optimize memory, logic, and analog circuits for DRAM products.
- Perform parasitic modeling and support design validation, reticle experiments, and tape-out revisions.
- Oversee floor-planning, placement, and routing activities and the layout process.
- Run verification via modeling and simulation using industry-standard simulators.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, and Product Engineering to ensure manufacturability.
- Use Generative AI tools to accelerate design, analysis, and documentation while retaining responsibility for correctness and signoff.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed as nice-to-have.
- 5+ years of practical experience in CMOS and VLSI circuit design across digital and analog domains.
- Hands-on mixed-signal design experience: schematic design, layout, and circuit simulation with industry-standard tools.
- Experience with power distribution design, parasitic modeling, and tape-out flows.
- Experience performing modeling and simulation for verification and design signoff.
- Demonstrated ability to lead layout activities including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills to work with product, manufacturing, and test teams.
- Nice-to-have: DRAM or memory circuit design (arrays, periphery, datapath), familiarity with PEX and PVT corner analysis, experience using Generative AI tools for design or documentation.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Equivalent practical experience is explicitly acceptable.
