Staff Design Engineer
Role Summary
Perform block-level SOC physical design activities including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing and physical verification. Work within a global team to meet timing, congestion and area objectives and implement ECOs to achieve tapeout-ready designs.

Responsibilities
Accountable for delivering block physical design and supporting timing closure and signoff activities.
- Perform floorplanning, partitioning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing and physical verification (LVS/DRC/ERC/Antenna).
- Drive congestion resolution and timing closure to meet timing, area and congestion targets.
- Execute equivalence checks, static timing analysis (STA), crosstalk and noise analysis.
- Implement timing and functional ECOs and support signoff flows.
- Participate in power optimization and noise mitigation activities.
- Collaborate with and mentor other team members across global teams.
- Adapt to new tools and methodologies and communicate technical status clearly.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required or strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in block-level SOC physical design, timing closure and congestion management.
- Experience performing equivalence checks, STA, crosstalk/noise analysis and ECO implementation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and guide others in a global team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with tools such as Cadence Innovus/Encounter, Synopsys ICC, Mentor Calibre, LEC and Synopsys PrimeTime.
