Staff Design and Verification Engineer, Pathfinding
Role Summary
As a Design and Verification Engineer on Micron’s Pathfinding Design Team, you will verify and develop next-generation memory technologies across the full design path — from memory array to interface — including DRAM and emerging memories. The role covers full-chip functional verification, array architecture analysis, mixed-signal circuit development, and floorplanning.
Work includes verification plan development, testbench and assertion creation, circuit simulation, co-simulation, and collaboration with digital and analog design teams to enable new memory concepts.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 4+ years of verification engineering experience in digital, analog, or mixed-signal verification.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Perform chip‑wide functional verification for memory development projects.
- Develop verification plans from composition specifications.
- Build SystemVerilog testbenches and apply assertions to achieve functional coverage.
- Debug testcases with digital design teams and ensure functional accuracy.
- Conduct circuit simulation, co‑simulation, and real‑number modeling.
- Support array architecture definition, mixed‑signal circuit development, and floorplanning.
- Contribute to novel concept development, circuit optimization, and system‑level tradeoffs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 4+ years of verification engineering experience in digital, analog, or mixed‑signal verification.
- Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and verification methodologies (testbenches, assertions, coverage).
- Experience with FastSpice, co‑simulation, and real‑number modeling.
- Experience in custom (schematic‑based) design flows and RTL verification.
- Knowledge of semiconductor physics, electronic circuits, and circuit‑level verification using SPICE.
- Familiarity with UNIX and Cadence simulation, schematic entry, and extraction tools.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and independent decision‑making skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with design‑for‑test (DFT) methodologies for memory products.
- Exposure to static timing analysis (STA) or timing‑accurate Verilog.
- Programming skills and experience applying AI to verification/design workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
