Staff Customer System Measurement Engineer
Role Summary
Embedded in the Industrial ATE Product Development Measurement organisation in Munich, this role is the primary technical interface between ADI and strategic ATE customers in Germany. The engineer captures customer measurement requirements, shapes evaluation and diagnostic solutions, and influences product development and adoption.
The role requires direct customer engagement, frequent short-notice travel or short-term co-location, and close collaboration with internal product, evaluation and test development teams.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff). The role expects at least 7+ years of relevant semiconductor industry experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include customer engagement, measurement leadership, and system-level evaluation to support product adoption and development.
- Act as primary technical interface for assigned strategic ATE customers; conduct frequent short-notice travel and on-site co-location as required.
- Build relationships with customer architecture, system and evaluation teams to define current and future measurement challenges.
- Develop evaluation and diagnostic solutions, test fixtures, measurement procedures, and reference systems to support customer engagements and product validation.
- Provide measurement leadership on Pin Electronics, Device Power Supplies, Precision Source and Parametric Measurement Units, and High-Speed Digital Test.
- Support characterization, correlation and system-level performance measurements and validation activities for new ATE products.
- Create technical collateral, demonstrations and training to accelerate customer understanding and technology adoption.
- Monitor ATE platform trends and competitive technologies; provide recommendations that influence ADI product and measurement strategy.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities.
- Proven experience in measurement development, ATE architecture, customer-facing engagements, or product diagnostics and analysis.
- Strong familiarity with measurement instrumentation, PCB development and system-level debugging; able to read and interpret schematics and layouts and develop measurement plans.
- Experience with precision analog and mixed-signal circuits and precision measurement is desirable.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional design, product engineering, evaluation and test development teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for engagement with customers and internal development organisations.
- Willingness to travel and co-locate at customer sites as needed; frequent short-notice travel expected (role text indicates approximately 25β50% travel and co-location when required).
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (for example Electronics Engineering or System Engineering), or equivalent practical experience.
