Job Title

Staff ASIC Verification Engineer, Low Power AI

Role Summary

Work on verification of ultra-low power ASIC subsystems for audio and on-device AI/context-aware applications. The role is on an ASIC verification team responsible for pre- and post-silicon verification, testbench development, automation, and debug.

Contribute to test plan development and closure, build scalable reusable verification environments, drive automation, and provide technical leadership to engineers on the team.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical experience: 4+ years ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience (3+ years with a Master’s, 2+ years with a PhD as specified by employer).

Responsibilities

Primary verification activities and ownership areas include:

  • Develop and execute verification plans and tests for pre- and post-silicon phases.
  • Design and maintain scalable, reusable testbenches, assertions, and coverage models.
  • Implement and maintain automation and flows to accelerate verification and development processes.
  • Lead complex debug activities across the development cycle, including root-cause analysis and closure.
  • Collaborate closely with RTL design teams to define verification methodology and provide required tests.
  • Provide technical supervision and mentorship to other engineers; lead by example.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Minimum 4+ years ASIC design, verification, implementation, or related work experience.
  • Expertise in hardware verification languages and methodologies (SystemVerilog testbench, UVM, and/or SystemC).
  • Expert hardware description language skills: Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Deep understanding of ASIC/VLSI concepts and digital circuits.
  • Experience writing clean, synthesizable RTL (Verilog/VHDL/SystemVerilog).
  • Working knowledge of C or C++ for verification tasks.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with audio technologies (e.g., MP3, MIDI), bus/interconnect (AHB/AXI), or CPU concepts (ARM v7/v8, cache, MMU, security).
  • Familiarity with scripting and build tools: Perl, tcsh, Python, GNU Make.
  • Experience with event-driven simulators and automotive functional safety standards such as ISO 26262.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years of relevant ASIC work experience; OR Master's degree plus 3+ years; OR PhD plus 2+ years. Equivalent practical work experience considered as specified by employer.
