Senior (Staff). Experience guidance in the posting: typical entry at this level requires 4+ years of ASIC verification/design experience (see Education Requirements for degree-based alternatives).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, and executing verification for advanced ASICs; mentoring engineers and collaborating with design teams.
- Contribute to core verification during pre- and post-silicon phases using simulation.
- Drive test plan development, execution, and verification closure with design teams.
- Create and maintain scalable testbenches, assertions, and functional coverage models.
- Implement automation flows to improve development processes.
- Lead complex debug activities throughout the development cycle (pre- and post-silicon).
- Provide technical supervision and lead by example; collaborate closely with design on verification methodology and test development.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, followed by concise nice-to-have items.
- At least 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, implementation, or related work experience.
- Expert in RTL languages: Verilog and/or SystemVerilog; able to write clean, synthesizable RTL.
- Expert in hardware verification languages and methodologies: SystemVerilog testbench (UVM) and/or SystemC.
- Strong understanding of ASIC/VLSI concepts and digital circuit design.
- Proficient in C (or C++) for verification-related tasks.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with audio codecs/formats, bus/interconnect protocols (AHB, AXI), or CPU concepts (ARM v7/v8, cache, MMU, security).
- Familiarity with event-driven simulators and verification debugging tools.
- Scripting experience: Perl, tcsh, Python, and build tools (GNU Make).
- Experience with automotive safety concepts/standards such as ISO 26262.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years. (Degrees and year thresholds appear in the posting.)
