Job Title

Staff Architecture Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's Architecture and Technology Group (ATG) to develop verification products that ensure CPU implementations comply with Arm architecture. You will design verification strategies, create testplans and testcases, implement automation, and collaborate with architects and internal/external design teams.

This role focuses on technical delivery and influence over future architecture verification products rather than people management.

Experience Level

Senior — the posting specifies 8+ years of verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining verification approaches, implementing tests, and delivering compliance products.

  • Analyse architecture definitions, perform investigations and feasibility studies, and define verification strategies.
  • Design and implement verification test plans and testcases using assembly, C, HVL, and higher‑level languages as appropriate.
  • Develop and apply automation to improve verification efficiency and throughput.
  • Contribute to development of Architecture Compliance Kits and other compliance products.
  • Communicate delivery status and technical risks clearly to stakeholders; ensure engineering commitments are met.
  • Drive process and methodology improvements to increase team productivity and quality.

Requirements

Key must-have and preferred skills for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: 8+ years of verification experience; strong understanding of computer architecture.
  • Must-have: Proficient programming skills in C/C++ and assembly; familiarity with software engineering practices and development workflows.
  • Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience coordinating technical deliveries.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience specifically in CPU or sophisticated IP verification.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of x86 or Arm processor architectures.

Education Requirements

BTech/B.S. or MTech/M.S./PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronics Engineering.
