Staff Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Senior RF applications engineer responsible for developing reference designs and RF matching networks to showcase and optimize Qorvo products in customer systems. The role supports sales and customers, collaborates with design teams and product managers, and produces documentation and evaluation hardware.
Experience Level
Senior / Professional; 3+ years of relevant RF applications or engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical support, reference design development, and customer-facing design-in assistance.
- Provide technical support for RF front-end products across communications applications.
- Design and implement RF matching networks and reference designs to optimize PAs, LNAs, and RF control products.
- Work with customers and sales to define requirements and support system integration and design-in.
- Troubleshoot customer system implementations and perform competitive benchmarking.
- Collaborate with design teams and product line managers to create datasheets, application notes, evaluation boards, and training materials.
Requirements
Must-have skills and conditions:
- 3+ years working with RF semiconductors and RF front-end components (power amplifiers, LNAs, switches, attenuators, filters).
- Practical experience designing matching networks and producing reference designs.
- Proficiency using RF test equipment: spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, oscilloscopes.
- Experience with nonlinear simulation tools such as Keysight ADS or Microwave Office (MWO).
- Ability to troubleshoot customer systems and perform competitive technical analysis.
- Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred, ideally in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
