Staff Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Member of Arm's Partner Enablement (Applications Engineering) team focused on supporting Computer Vision and Machine Learning software solutions for Edge and Physical AI applications. The role combines hands-on technical customer support, integration assistance, training, and technical leadership to help partners adopt Arm technologies.
Work directly with OEMs, ODMs and ecosystem partners to reproduce and resolve complex issues, enable platform bring-up and integration, and deliver workshops and documentation.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires substantial industry experience; the posting specifies 10+ years in firmware/software development.
Responsibilities
Provide technical enablement and support for partners using Arm-based systems. Typical duties include:
- Provide technical support across firmware, software, ML, and computer-vision stacks on Arm platforms.
- Investigate and reproduce complex customer issues; identify root causes and drive fixes with engineering teams.
- Support platform bring-up, integration activities, and major customer project milestones.
- Deliver customer training sessions, workshops, and technical presentations.
- Collaborate with hardware, ML, applications engineering, product management, and business-unit teams.
- Mentor and share expertise with less-experienced engineers.
- Occasional travel to Arm sites and partner locations.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- 10+ years in firmware/software development.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills.
- Deep understanding of SoC architecture and Arm processor architecture.
- Experience debugging from firmware through OS and application layers.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and Computer Vision software stacks.
- Experience with Rich OS internals (Linux), including driver and application layers.
- Proven ability to collaborate across geographically distributed, cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX) or inference runtimes.
- System bring-up and JTAG debugging expertise.
- System performance analysis experience.
- Experience with RTL simulation tools and common software development tools.
