Role Summary

Provide technical leadership for customer production ramp-up and application support of Marvell high-speed Ethernet PHY and retimer products. Work with customers and internal R&D to reproduce issues, perform lab validation, and improve product readiness from design through production.

Experience Level

Senior level. The posting requests a Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years of related experience, or a Master's/PhD with 2+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer-facing support, system bring-up, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Provide technical support for high-speed connectivity solutions up to 800 Gbps and beyond.
  • Design and develop firmware and SDKs for high-speed PHY transceivers; assist with driver implementation and validation.
  • Implement and validate security and clock synchronization protocols (e.g., PTP, SyncE).
  • Perform hands-on system bring-up and debugging of transceiver technology (5nm process node).
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues via lab replication and root-cause analysis; provide remote and on-site customer support.
  • Execute device-level and system-level testing with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Run lab testing and field trials to characterize high-speed application environments.
  • Review hardware schematics and provide technical input to silicon and system teams.
  • Develop technical training and author application notes, user guides, release notes, and other documentation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tool familiarity, and work habits for this role.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python; experience working with APIs.
  • Experience in Systems, Validation, Embedded, or Applications Engineering with high-speed semiconductor devices.
  • Working knowledge of device driver development principles and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to hardware and software debugging.
  • Practical experience with lab equipment: high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic/protocol analyzers, and traffic generators.
  • Familiarity with one or more: high-speed PCB layout, signal integrity analysis, board assembly, or electronics manufacturing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work in a multicultural, cross-functional environment.
  • Customer-oriented, detail-focused, able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as required (up to 10%).
  • Nice-to-have: knowledge of complex mixed-signal ICs, SerDes architectures, or high-speed interface protocols and standards.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field plus 3+ years of related professional experience; OR Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of related experience.
