Staff Application Engineer, Power Management

Role Summary

Develop hardware and software for evaluation and characterization of power management ICs (PMICs). Lead device evaluation activities, produce technical documentation, and provide technical support to internal teams and external customers.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include hands-on evaluation, test development, and cross-functional technical support.

• Design PCB schematics and layouts for device evaluation boards.
• Develop automation software and manual/automated bench test methods.
• Conduct PMIC evaluations and debugging at chip and board level.
• Plan and lead device evaluation activities and document errata.
• Create technical deliverables: datasheets, evaluation reports, and application notes.
• Support internal design engineers, FAEs, and customers during product integration and debugging.
• Collaborate with marketing, system architects, and design teams to define IC functions and specifications.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and a small set of desirable qualifications.

• Must-have: PMIC evaluation experience.
• Must-have: PCB schematic and layout design experience.
• Must-have: Bench debugging and board/chip-level troubleshooting.
• Must-have: Test automation development (automation software for evaluation).
• Nice-to-have: Customer communication experience.
