Role Summary
Provide advanced technical leadership and customer-facing support for Synopsys physical design solutions, focusing on advanced-node implementation and signoff. Work with customers and internal teams to define and execute methodologies that achieve optimal power, performance, area (PPA) and design convergence.
Experience Level
Senior level. The role expects 5+ years of experience in ASIC physical design, design implementation, or application engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for the role include technical leadership, customer engagement, and methodology development.
- Lead strategic customer engagements and act as a trusted technical advisor for implementation and signoff strategies.
- Provide advanced customer support for physical design flows: floorplanning, placement, optimization, CTS, routing, timing closure, and signoff.
- Own and resolve critical escalations; coordinate cross-functional teams and R&D to deliver fixes and improvements.
- Drive methodology innovations, benchmarking, and technical campaigns across customer programs.
- Influence product and solution direction through feedback and collaboration with engineering teams.
- Mentor and guide application engineers; contribute to knowledge sharing and organizational capability growth.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate impact.
- 5+ years of ASIC physical design, implementation, or application engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in advanced physical design flows and design convergence at advanced technology nodes.
- Hands-on experience with Fusion Compiler, ICC2, and related implementation toolchains.
- Strong understanding of STA, extraction, physical verification, and signoff flows.
- Experience with PrimeTime, StarRC, IC Validator, DSO.ai, or other AI-driven implementation technologies.
- Proficient scripting skills in Tcl, Perl, Python, or shell for automation and methodology development.
- Proven customer-facing experience resolving complex technical issues and managing stakeholder communications.
- Demonstrated leadership through mentoring, technical ownership, or leading major customer initiatives.
